The project called BT21 began on September 26, 2017 as a joint collaboration between Big Hit Entertainment and Line Friends. Each member is represented by a single mascot - the heart-shaped red alien Tata was inspired by V, a cute pony Mang was designed by J-Hope, a yellow puppy Chimmy was created by Jimin, a white alpaca RJ with a red scarf is associated with Jin, a small blue koala Koya was drawn by RM, a cute pink rabbit Cooky was inspired by Jungkook, and finally a brown cookie Shooky is a creation of Suga. Special character named Van was brought to life by the designers from Line Friends, and represents the fandom of the group Army.
The BT21 Skechers are not the first shoes featuring the cute mascots endorsed by the group. There are several other brands the group worked with. Previously BTS also worked with Converse and in 2018 created three new pairs of footwear including Chuck Taylor All Star model. The group began their partnership with Skechers in October of 2019. The first line of BT21 Skechers was released in 9 different designs. The model called Uno showcased a single character which you could identify by a graphic on the side of the shoe composed of a small illustration and the name of the character.
As I mentioned earlier there are nine different options to choose from - blue Skechers with a purple shoelaces (inspired by Koya), yellow and blue (Shooky), purple and pink with blue laces (Mang), yellow and green (Chimmy), blue and red (Tata), blue and pink (Cooky), and silver and black (Van). One additional design was also included. It is called D'Lites 3.0 and is the most colorful and the most original out of all BT21 Skechers in this selection. Please notice that all the shoes have a brown sole with the exception of Van's option and the additional design.
All 9 Skechers showcase a soft fabric shoe lining, a tongue made of a mesh fabric, collar panels made of the same material, and overlays made of leather and suede. They have perforated elements on the sides and on the front. As you can see they will be exceptionally comfortable to wear, and easy to clean and maintain.
