Red Velvet Albums

There are 15 Red Velvet albums released including 2 studio albums, 11 extended plays (including 3 special) and 2 repackages. All of them were released under SM Entertainment, and distributed by KT Music (later as Genie Music) and iRiver Inc. (later as Dreamus). Some of the Kihno editions were distributed by SM Entertainment.

The Red Velvet's discography includes 2 special Summer themed albums and a trilogy The ReVe Festival consisting of Day 1, Day 2 and Finale.

Red Velvet are known for the duality of their releases. The albums often present either vivid, girly and intensely captivating image of the group, or a more feminine, mature, soft and sophisticated sound. On the other hand the group tends to combine both sides that complement each other creating a rich and appealing results.

The group debuted with their first extended play Ice Cream Cake in 2015. The list of all Red Velvet albums in order is below.

Ice Cream Cake Mini Album

The first physical release of the group was Ice Cream Cake that came out on March 18, 2015 (although it was available digitally a day before) under SM Entertainment. It was distributed by KT Music. It was the first release of Red Velvet featuring Yeri who recently joined the group. Lee Soo-man served as the executive producer.

The extended play consists of 6 songs including the title Ice Cream Cake, Automatic, Somethin Kinda Crazy, Stupid Cupid, Take It Slow and Candy. The first title track - of the same name as the EP - was composed and arranged by Hayley Aitken, Sebastian Lundberg, Fredrik Haggstam and Johan Gustafson (Trinity Music). The lyrics were written by Jo Yoon-kyung and Kim Dong-hyun. The second title track titled Automatic was produced by Daniel "Obi" Klein and Charli Taft. Choi So-young wrote the lyrics. The music video for Automatic released before the premiere of the album on March 14. Teddy Riley - an American producer co-composed Somethin Kinda Crazy alongside Kenzie. He is known from working with Michel Jackson on his album Dangerous.

The first of Red Velvet albums topped the Gaon Weekly Chart and peaked at the 2nd position on the Billboard's US World Chart. It ended on the 50th position on the list of best-selling South Korean albums of 2015.

The physical edition of the EP comes in 2 different versions - Ice Cream Cake (colorful cover) and Automatic (black and white cover). Both are in a square photobook form with a hardcover. They are composed of a CD disk placed on the inner side of the front cover, a photobook itself, and 1 random photo card chosen out of 5 versions. Although the photobooks differ in both versions, the photo cards are the same.

The Red Studio Album

The first full-length album of Red Velvet titled The Red was released by SM Entertainment on September 9, 2015. KT Music once again was responsible for the distribution. For the second time Lee Soo-man was the executive producer of the album. The Red is composed of 10 original songs including Dumb Dumb, Huff n Puff, Campfire, Red Dress, Oh Boy, Lady's Room, Time Slip, Don't U Wait No More, Day 1 and Cool World. Dumb Dumb was composed by LDN Noise, Deanna Dellacioppa, Taylor Parks and Ryan S. Jhun, and was chosen as the title single of the second of Red Velvet albums.

A special showcase titled Red VS Velvet was broadcasted through Red Velvet's V-Live account on which the members discussed the details regarding their newest release.

Red Velvet The Red Studio Album Cover

The Red for the second time in row topped the Gaon's chart. Additionally it was charted at the 1st position on the US World chart of Billboard. It also reached number 47 on the Japanese Oricon chart. With more than 40,000 units sold it became the 53rd best-selling KPop album of 2015.

The studio album is available in one physical version. It has a slip cover of a size of 143 x 125 x 15 mm and a red sticker on the plastic wrap featuring the titles of all songs included in the Red Velvet album. Inside you will find a CD disk with the music in a jewel case added out of two variants - Red or Blue (142 x 125 x 11 mm), a small 48 pages photobook (142 x 125 x 45 mm), and 1 photo card randomly added from a lot of 6 variants. Inside the jewel case you will find a booklet with the lyrics of all songs.

Four posters of different sizes were issued for this album.

The Velvet Mini Album

The second mini album of the group titled The Velvet was released on March 17, 2016. Lee Soo-man came back as the executive producer. On the CD you will find 8 tracks - the lead single One of These Nights, Cool Hot Sweet Love, Light Me Up, First Time, Rose Scent Breeze (performed by Seulgi, Wendy and Joy), and three remixes of the title song - De-Capo, Joe Millionaire and Piano Version). One of These Nights was composed by Hwang Chan-hee, Andreas Öberg and Maria Marcus, and arranged by Hwang, Lee Sung-joo and Hong So-jin. The lyrics were created by Seo Ji-eum who also wrote the lyrics for Dumb Dumb.

The release of the music video for the lead single was postponed from March 16 to March 17 to guarantee the highest quality.

Red Velvet The Velvet Mini Album Cover

For the third time straight a Red Velvet album topped the Gaon Weekly chart. It also peaked at the 8th position on the Billboard's US World, and the 2nd position on the Gaon Montly chart.

Each physical copy of the EP has a slip cover and contains a blue CD disk in a jewel case, a photobook with 48 pages of pictures (142 x 125 x 45 mm), and 1 photo card featuring a random member of Red Velvet. A booklet with the lyrics was also included. On the plastic wrap you will find a blue sticker with the tracklist.

Six posters were prepared for this Red Velvet album - 1 group and 5 individual member sheets.

Russian Roulette Mini Album

Russian Roulette is the third mini album of Red Velvet, and was released on September 7, 2016 under SM Entertainment. It features 7 songs including the title track of the same name as the EP, Lucky Girl, Bad Dracula, Sunny Afternoon, Fool, Some Love and My Dear. The lead single was produced by Albi Albertsson, Belle Humble and Markus Lindell, with Jo Yun Gyeong responsible for the lyrics.

The fourth of Red Velvet albums became another release that topped the Weekly Chart of Gaon. It also reached positions number 2 and 18 on Billboard's US World and Heatseekers respectively. Roussian Roulette was nominated at the 2017 Golden Disc Awards in a Album Division Main Award category.

The physical release of the extended play is very similar to Ice Cream Cake. It is composed of a pink CD disk with the music, which is attached to the front cover, a photobook with beautiful photos of all members of Red Velvet, and 1 random photo card added from a lot of 5 variants.

Rookie Mini Album

The fourth extended play Rookie was released on February 1, 2017 by SM Entertainment. It features six new songs including the title track of the same name, Little Little, Happily Ever After, Talk to Me, Body Talk and Last Love (performed by Wendy). The lead single Jamil "Digi" Chammas, Leven KaliSara Forsberg, Karl Powell, Harrison Johnson, Russell Steedle, MZMC, Otha "Vakseen" Davis III and Tay Jasper. It was arranged by The Colleagues and Chammas.

A special broadcast was organized through V-Live to promote the fourth of the Red Velvet albums.

Red Velvet Rookie Mini Album Cover

Rookie topped both the South Korean Gaon and American Billboard US World charts. It also charted at number 21 on the US Heatseekers chart. It was the fourth best-selling KPop release in February.

The physical edition of the Red Velvet album comes in 5 different versions with a photo of a single member prominently displayed on the cover. The dimensions of the package is 158 x 183 x 27 mm. Rookie consists of a blue CD disk, a 72 pages photobook (142 x 170 mm), and 1 random photo card added from a lot of 10 sheets (2 sheets per member).

A special Kihno edition was also released and consists of a Kihno Kit in a small package. The edition is available in 5 version similarly to the regular physical edition, and features the same photos of individual members.

The Red Summer Special Mini Album

The Red Summer is the first special album and the fifth EP of Red Velvet. It came out physically on July 10, 2017 and digitally a day earlier on July 9. It was distributed by Genie Music (formerly known as KT Music). On the CD you will find 5 songs prepared for a summer season - Red Flavor, You Better Know, Zoo, Mojito and Hear the Sea. The composition for the title Red Flavor was made by Daniel Caesar and Ludwig Lindell, and the arrangement by Caesar & Loui. Kenzie wrote the lyrics.

For the sixth consecutive time Red Velvet topped the weekly Gaon chart, and for the third time charted atop on the Billboard's US World chart. The Red Summer also peaked at the 4th position on the Gaon's monthly chart with 62,046 units sold.

The Red Summer is available in a square hardcover photobook form with a CD disk attached to the back side of the front cover (150 x 150 x 16 mm). The photobook consists of 80 pages with pictures of the members of Red Velvet. Inside the package you will also find a random photo card chosen out of 10 variants (2 variants per member). The photo cards are of a standard size of 55 x 85 mm. The whole album is packed in a plastic wrap with two stickers - the first one features the logo of the Red Velvet album, and the other one lists the titles of all songs.

This was the second of Red Velvet albums to have a Kihno version available. It came in a similar package as Rookie and was distributed by SM Entertainment.

One poster of a size of 810 x 610 mm was issued for this extended play.

Perfect Velvet Studio Album

The second studio album of the group titled Perfect Velvet was released on November 17, 2017. It is the first full-length Red Velvet album since The Red in 2015. A repackage of Perfect Velvet came out the following year on January 29, 2018.

On the CD you will find 8 songs including Peek-a-Boo, Look, I Just, Kingdom Come, My Second Date, Attaboy, Perfect 10, About Love and Moonlight Melody. The trio Moonshine, Cazzi Opeia and Ellen Berg Tollbom composed the lead single Peek-a-Boo, while Kenzie wrote the lyrics.

Perfect Velvet was the third album of the group in 2017 that topped the Billboard's US World chart. It reached the 2nd position on the Gaon's weekly, and made it to the top 20 of the Oricon's chart. Billboard placed the album on the 5th position on The 25 Greatest K-Pop Albums of the 2010s list.

Perfect Velvet was the first of Red Velvet albums to surpass 100,000 units sold.

The physical edition of Perfect Velvet comes in a box with a sturdy paper sleeve (143 x 125 x 16 mm) and consists of a CD disk in a jewel case imitating the box of a pizza (142 x 125 x 11 mm), a 48 pages photo book (142 x 125 mm), and 1 random photo card featuring one of the members (2 sheets per member). The photo cards measure 55 x 85 mm.

A poster of a size of 610 x 920 mm was released for the album.

The Perfect Red Velvet Repackage Album

The repackage of Perfect Velvet was released by on January 29, 2018. It is the first repackage of the group and the first of all artists under SM Entertainment in 7 years. It is composed of 12 tracks including previously released Peek-a-Boo, Look, I Just, Kingdom Come, My Second Date, Attaboy, Perfect 10, About Love and Moonlight Melody. Three new songs were added - the title Bad Boy, All Right and Time To Love. The digital edition contains only the new songs alongside two instrumental tracks - for Bad Boy and Peek-a-Boo. Bad Boy was composed by the production team The Stereotypes (the team also arranged the song), Maxx Song, Whitney Phillips and Yoo Young-jin.

This Red Velvet album was promoted during the group's world tour titled Redmare.

Red Velvet The Perfect Red Velvet Repackage Album Cover

The repackage reached the highest position on the Gaon chart, but did not peak at the 1st position on Billboard's US World chart and failed to repeat the success of its predecessor. It reached number 3 instead.

The Perfect Red Velvet is available in both regular and Kihno physical editions. The CD edition consists of a sleeve sized 143 x 125 x 17 mm, the disk with a 24 pages booklet in a jewel case (142 x 125 x 11 mm), a photobook with 56 pages full of pictures (142 x 125 mm), and 1 random photo card from 10 options available (2 per member) of a standard size of 55 x 85 mm.

The Kihno edition came in a compact package of a size of 60 x 90 mm and was composed of a kit itself (60 x 60 mm) and a set of 12 photo cards with 1 additional sheet chosen randomly out of 5 variants. The photo cards measure 54 x 86 mm.

Summer Magic Special Mini Album

The second summer themed Red Velvet album and their seventh Korean EP overall was released by SM on August 6, 2018. It was distributed by iRiver Inc. Summer Magic is composed of 7 new songs - the lead single Power Up, With You, Mr. E, Hit That Drum, Blue Lemonade and the English version of Bad Boy. A special bonus vocal track was included in the iTunes release. The composition of the title song was made by Amanda Salsabila, Ellen Berg Tollbom, Cazzi Opeia, Jonatan Gusmark, Ludvig Evers (Moonshine), with the arrangement by Gusmark and Evers. Kenzie was once again credited as the lyricist of the song.

Summer Magic topped the Gaon chart and reached number 3 on both US World and US Heatseekers charts. It also peaked at the 10th and 12th position on Billboard's US Independent and Oricon charts.

The physical edition of the EP is available in 6 versions - 1 regular and 5 limited versions (each representing a single member).

The standard version comes in a packaging of a size of 150 x 150 x 13.5 mm. Inside you will find a CD disk, a 48 pages photobook, and 1 photo card randomly chosen out of 5 options (55 x 85 mm). Also a poster was released for this version of Summer Magic. It measures 920 x 610 mm.

The limited versions of this Red Velvet album feature a pop-up cover which you can assemble using the elements included in the package (in a unique separate box). All versions come with a sturdy slip case (150 x 150 x 33.5 mm). Beside the box with elements you will get a unique CD disk of a distinctive color, a photobook, a lyrics accordion book, a regular random photo card (out of 5 variants), and 1 transparent photo card randomly added from a lot of 5 sheets. The lyrics book and the photobook are the same in all 5 versions. A different poster showcasing all members was released for the limited edition. The size of the poster is 610 x 920 mm.

RBB Mini Album

RBB is the eighth mini album of Red Velvet. It had its premiere on November 30, 2018 under SM Entertainment. Once again iRiver served as the distributor. The release features 6 new songs including RBB (Really Bad Boy), Butterflies, So Good, Sassy Me, Taste and the instrumental version of RBB. The lead single Really Bad Boy was composed by Kenzie alongside Timothy "Bos" Bullock, Sara Forsberg and MZMC, with the arrangement provided by Bullock.

RBB became the tenth consecutive top three Red Velvet album that charted on the Gaon's Weekly Chart (at the 3rd position). It also peaked at the 2nd place on US World chart and topped the US Heatseekers chart. The EP sold 84,092 in the first day and ultimately become the 8th best-selling album of the month. It was also the 49th best-selling South Korean album of 2018.

The singular physical edition of RBB comes in a sleeve box (143 x 125 x 17 mm). Inside you will traditionally find a CD disk with the music in a jewel case alongside the 24 pages booklet, a 56 pages photobook (142 x 125 mm), and 1 random photo card added from a lot of 10 variants (2 per member).

A poster was prepared for this Red Velvet album. It measures 610 x 920 mm.

The ReVe Festival: Day 1 Mini Album

The ninth Korean extended play of the group titled The ReVe Festival: Day 1 was released by SM Entertainment on June 19, 2019. It was distributed by iRiver. It is the first installment into The ReVe Festival series. The title of the mini album means "dream" or "fantasy" in French, and was the name of the official mascot of Red Velvet during their tour Redmare.

The ReVe Festival: Day 1 consists of 6 new songs including the lead single Zimzalabim, Sunny Side Up!, Milkshake, Bing Bing, Parade and LP. The composition of Zimzalabim was made by Olof Lindskog, Daniel Caesar, Ludwig Lindell and Hayley Aitken, with the arrangement by OLLIPOP and Caesar & Loui.

Red Velvet The ReVe Festival: Day 1 Mini Album Cover

The Red Velvet album topped the Gaon Weekly chart and reached number 7 on the US World chart. The regular physical edition was the second most purchased album in the month of June after BTS World: Original Soundtrack. The Kihno edition reached number 49 on the same list with 3,611 units sold.

The physical CD edition comes in 6 different versions - 1 Guide Book and 5 Day 1 versions featuring a photo of a single member on the cover.

The dimensions of the Guide Book version of the album are 150 x 150 x 13.5 mm. You will get a CD disk with the music, a 48 pages photobook, a random paper photo stand showcasing a single member, and a random photo card (out of 5 options). A poster was also prepared. It measures 610 x 920 mm.

The box of the Day 1 version has a picture of a chosen member on the cover and measures 150 x 150 x 33.5 mm. It comes with a sleeve. Inside you will find a CD disk, a Magic Kit consisting of a clue ticket, a balloon and magic glasses, a 48 pages photobook, and 1 photo card randomly chosen out of 10 options (2 per member).

The Kihno edition is here more interesting than all previously released when it comes to Red Velvet. It is composed of an Air Kit (60 x 60 mm), a 32 pages photobook (90 x 90 mm), a random photo card added from a lot of 5 (55 x 85 mm), and a user manual that will guide you through the process of connecting the Kit to your device (in both English and Korean). All comes in a square box of a size of 101 x 101 x 33 mm. A poster of a size of 610 x 920 mm was added if you pre-ordered your copy.

The ReVe Festival: Day 2 Mini Album

The second part of the The ReVe Festival series came out on August 20, 2019. It was available for pre-order starting August 12 and was distributed by Dreamus. The tenth extended play of the group consists of 6 songs including Umpah Umpah, Carpool, Love Is The Way, Jumpin, Ladies Night and Eyes Locked, Hands Locked. Umpah Umpah, composed by Christoffer Lauridsen, Andreas Öberg and Allison Kaplan was chosen as the lead single. It won in the category Song of the Year at the Asia Artist Awards.

This was another of Red Velvet albums that topped the weekly Gaon chart. It also charted on 6th and 17th positions on US World and Oricon chart respectively.

Red Velvet The ReVe Festival: Day 2 Mini Album Cover

Similarly to the previous release, The ReVe Festival: Day 2 is available in 2 editions - a Guide Book and Day 2 versions. However Day 2 version comes only in 1 variant.

The dimensions of Guide Book version are 150 x 150 x 13.5 mm. It consists of a CD disk, a folded brochure with the lyrics (389 x 130 mm), a photobook with 48 pages full of pictures, 1 postcard randomly chosen out of 5 options (140 x 100 mm), and 1 random photo card added from a lot of 5 sheets (55 x 85 mm).

The Day 2 version is a little bit thicker and measures 150 x 150 x 33.5 mm. It comes with a slip cover and is composed of a Travel Kit (clue ticket, luggage tag, sticker set, polaroid photo) showcasing a single member of Red Velvet, a 48 pages photobook, and a random photo card (out of 5 available).

6 posters were issued for The ReVe Festival: Day 2 - 1 group and 5 individual member posters. All measure 920 x 610 mm.

A Kihno version of the mini album is also available. Inside the box (101 x 101 x 33 mm) you will find an Air Kit (60 x 60 mm), a 32 pages photobook (90 x 90 mm), and 1 random photo card with a photo of a single member (55 x 85 mm). An original poster of a size of 920 x 610 mm was also available.

The ReVe Festival: Finale Repackage Album

The final part of The Reve Festival series of albums and the group's first repackage was released on December 23, 2019, after being available for pre-order since December 12. Once again Dreamus was responsible for the distribution. It compiles the songs from the previous two extended plays and includes four new tracks - Psycho, In & Out, Remember Forever and La Rouge. The repackage consists of 16 tracks yet only new tracks are available on the digital edition. The title Psycho was composed by Andrew Scott, Cazzi Opeia and EJAE. The arrangements were made by Druski and Yoo Young-jin. Kenzie came back to write the lyrics for the lead single.

The ReVe Festival: Finale is another of Red Velvet albums that topped the Gaon Weekly Chart (it stayed atop for two consecutive weeks), and eventually became the 3rd best-selling release in December of 2019. It also peaked at the 3rd position on the Billboard's US World chart. The repackage was very popular overseas and entered the charts in Poland, Spain, Belgium and Japan.

The physical edition of The ReVe Festival: Finale is available in 2 versions - Scrapbook and Finale versions.

The Scrapbook version comes in a box of a size of 150 x 150 x 14.5 mm. Inside the package you will find a CD disk, a 56 pages photobook (143 x 143 x 5.5 mm), a special receipt chosen randomly out of 5 options (each represents 1 member) that measures 64 x 138 mm, and 1 random photo card, this time added from a lot of 15 options (3 options per member). A poster of a size of 610 x 920 mm was included if you pre-ordered your copy.

The dimensions of the Finale version are 162.5 x 157 x 29.5 mm. By purchasing this version you will get a CD disk, a random photobook - either Green or Pink version (149.5 x 144 x 19 mm), a random postcard with a photo of a single member, and finally 1 photo card added from a lot of 10 variants (2 per member).

Six posters were prepared for the final album. All measure 610 x 920 mm.

Queendom Mini Album

The sixth mini album of the group titled Queendom had its premiere under SM Entertainment on August 17, 2021 (although you could get it digitally since August 16). It was the group's first record after more than one and a half year. The EP contains 6 tracks including the eponymous lead single, Pose, Knock on Wood, Better Be, Pushin' N Pullin, and Hello, Sunset.

The album reached number 2 on the Gaon weekly chart, and number 11 on both the Japanese Oricon and US World chart of Billboard. Queendom later became the 4th best-selling release of the premiere month. It finished the year as the 37th best-selling release in South Korea.

It quickly sold more than 350,000 copies and was certified Platinum by KMCA (for more than 250,000 units sold).

The EP comes in 2 completely different physical versions. The first of them named Queens measures 300 x 300 x 8.5 mm and consists of a dust cover, an 84 pages photobook, the CD with music in an elvelope, 1 random portrait card, 1 postcard, 1 bookmark, 1 randomly selected photo card, and 1 poster.

The Girls version is rectangular and measures 137 x 144 x 32 mm. Inside you will find a special case with a photobook, the CD, an accordion lyrics book, a folded poster featuring a random member, 2 random postcards, an envelope, a set of stickers, 1 special card, and 1 randomly selected photo card. 2 posters were issued for this release.

The ReVe Festival 2022 - Feel My Rhythm Special Mini Album

The special extended play of the group titled The ReVe Festival 2022 – Feel My Rhythm came out on March 21, 2022 to commemorate the birthday of the famous classical composer J.S. Bach. who was born in 1685. It was another installment into The ReVe Festival series. The record features 6 songs including the opening lead single Feel My Rhythm, Rainbow Halo, Beg for Me, Bamboleo, Good, Bad, Ugly, and In My Dreams. The main track uses some samples from the popular piece of music by Bach titled Air on the G String. Even if you're not familiar with classical music you will probably immediately recognize it.

The Red Velvet album topped the weekly Gaon chart and reached number 6 on the Oricon chart. It also peaked at number 8 and 9 on the Billboard's US World and US Heatseekers charts respectively. It eventually became the 3rd most popular release of March of 2022.

The ReVe Festival 2022 – Feel My Rhythm was extremely popular and was certified Double Platinum by KMCA for more than 500,000 copies sold.

Physically, the EP is available in 3 versions including 2 regular versions with a dust jacket (Capriccioso and Calmato), and a single Orgel version with a mini CD of a dameter of 80 mm instead of a regular one.
