GFriend Albums

There are currently 14 GFriend albums released including 3 studio albums, 1 repackage, 9 extended plays and 1 special summer album. They came out under Source Music, were manufactured by Seoul Media, Inc. and Arana, Inc., and distributed by KT Music and Loen Entertainment (later as Kakao M Corp.). The first 9 releases (not counting Parallel), are available also as a Kihno edition.

Season of Glass Mini Album

Season of Glass is the debut extended play of the group. It was released by Source Music on January 15 digitally and on January 16, 2015 physically. It was distributed by KT Music. On the album you will find 5 tracks including the intro of the same title as the EP, Glass Bead along with the instrumental version, Neverland and White.

Glass Bead was chosen as the lead single. It was produced by Iggy and Seo Yong-bae (of an entertainment company RBW, which houses Mamamoo, Oneus and Onewe), who also wrote the lyrics.

The first of GFriend albums reached number 9 on the Gaon Weekly Chart and was the 38th best-selling KPop album of January of 2015 with 1,146 copies sold. It charted even better during the next month reaching number 15 on the list with 2,224 units sold.

The physical edition of Season of Glass comes in a photobook form and consists of a CD disk with the music and the photobook itself. The CD in a photo envelope is placed on the back side of the cover. No photo cards are available with this release.

A Kihno version of this GFriend album was also released. It is roughly of a size of a card deck (60 x 90 mm) and is composed of the square Kit (60 x 60 mm) and a set of 7 photo cards (1 group and 6 solo sheets) of a almost standard size of 54 x 86 mm. It was manufactured by Kihno, Inc. and distributed by Loen Entertainment.

Flower Bud Mini Album

The second mini album of GFriend came out on July 27, 2015 (although it was available digitally on July 23) under Source Music and was distributed by KT Music. On the CD you will find 6 tracks - the intro titled after the album, the lead song Me Gustas Tu, Under The Sky, One, My Buddy and the instrumental version of Me Gustas Tu.

Iggy and Seo Yong-bae came back to produce the lead single. They also contributed to all other tracks except My Buddy.

The second of GFriend albums peaked at the 6th position on the Gaon chart, and was the second highest charted KPop girl group after Apink's Pink Memory that week. It eventually became the 18th most popular South Korean release in July of 2015 with 4,011 copies sold. It sold another 3,989 copies during August and finished the month on the 17th position.

Flower Bud comes in a similar form to the first GFriend album and consists of a CD disk and a photobook. This time though the envelope with CD is glued to the cover and does not come separately. 1 photo card featuring one of the members is included. It was randomly selected out of 6 variants.

For the second time a Kihno edition was issued. It is of the exactly same size as the previous one and measures 60 x 90 mm. Inside the package you will find the Kihno Kit (60 x 60 mm) and a set of 7 photo cards (54 x 86 mm).

Snowflake Mini Album

Snowflake is the third extended play of the girl group. It had its premiere on January 25, 2016 under Source Music. For the first time Loen Entertainment was responsible for the distribution. The album features 7 tracks including Snowflake (Intro), Rough along with the instrumental version, Say My Name, Luv Star, Someday and Trust.

Rough serves as the lead single. It was composed and arranged by Iggy and Seo Yong-bae, who also produced the previous two main tracks of GFriend. The song brought a total number of 15 wins on music shows including Music Bank, Inkigayo, M! Countdown and Show Champion.

To support the release of the third of GFriend albums a special showcase was held at the AX Korea in Seoul on January 25, 2016.

Snowflake reached number 2 on the Gaon chart. It lost only to Super Junior's Ryewook and his 1st mini album The Little Prince. It also entered the Billboard's US World chart on position number 10. It was the 7th most purchased Korean release in January of 2016 (with 11,165 copies sold). It later become the 76th best-selling album of 2016 with 37,744 units sold.

The physical edition of this GFriend album consists of a sturdy cover of a dimensions of 160 x 120 x 12 mm, CD disk attached to the back side of the cover, and an 80 pages photobook (150 x 110 mm) placed in a pocket of the cover. A random photo card chosen out of 12 different versions (2 per member) was also included. It's worth noting that starting with the third press copies of the album an additional photo card was added to the package. So instead of 1 you will get 2 randomly selected sheets if you bought newly released version.

1 random poster (out of 2 available) was added as a pre-order benefit if you purchased your copy earlier.

Of course a Kihno edition is also available. It looks exactly like the previous 2 and is composed of a Kit and a set of 7 original photo cards.

Lol Studio Album

The first full-length album of GFriend was released under Source Music on July 11, 2016 and distributed by Loen Entertainment. 12 songs were included with this release - Intro, Fall in Love, the lead single Navillera, LOL, Distance, Water Flower, Mermaid, Sunshine, Compass, Click, Gone with the Wind, and the instrumental version of Navillera.

The title song was composed, arranged and written by Iggy and Seo Yong-bae. It won 14 awards on 5 different music shows.

On the GFriend album's premiere day two showcases was held - one for the media and one for the fans (it was broadcasted through GFriend's VLive account). To support the album the girl group began their GFriend L.O.L Showcase in Seoul at the Yes24 Live Hall. They also performed in Singapore, Manila (Philippines) and Taipei (Taiwan).

Lol reached number 3 on the Gaon weekly chart and peaked at the 7th position on the US World chart. It was the 4th best-selling KPop album of July 2016, and the highest ranked release of any girl group that month (with the sales reaching 40,680 copies). It was the 45th most popular release of 2016.

This is the first GFriend album that comes in 2 different physical versions. They were named Lots of Love and Laughing Out Loud. Both are of the same shape and size and measure 160 x 220 mm. They have a cut out window on the front cover and consist of a CD disk, a photobook with 124 pages of pictures (150 x 210 mm), 1 letter in an envelope from a random member (140 x 200 mm), 1 paper doll randomly chosen out of 6 versions (140 x 200 mm), 3 different postcards showcasing all members (200 x 140 mm), a sheet of 8 stickers (140 x 200 mm), and 2 random photo cards added from a lot of 21 sheets (1 group, 2 unit and 3 sheets per each member). The photo cards are of a standard size of 55 x 85 mm. The CDs and photobooks differ in both versions, while all other goods are the same.

2 posters were prepared as a pre-order benefit. They measure 600 x 426 mm.

Of course Lol was another GFriend album for which a Kihno edition was released. As always it consists of a Kit and 7 photo cards in a set.

The Awakening Mini Album

The Awakening is the fourth mini album of the group. It was manufactured by Seoul Media, Inc., released by Source Music on March 6, 2017 and distributed by Loen Entertainment. On the CD you will find 6 songs including Hear the Wind Sing, Fingertip, Contrail, Please Save My Earth, Rain in the Spring Time and Crush. Fingertip serves as the lead single. It was produced by Iggy and Youngbae. The duo was also credited as the lyricists.

GFriend The Awakening Mini Album Cover

This was the first of GFriend albums to top the Gaon weekly chart. It also charted on the 5th position on US World chart, and reached number 2 and 18 on Japanese Oricon and Taiwanese Five Music charts respectively. It sold 64,802 copies and was the 5th best-selling KPop release of March, 2017. Similarly to the previous GFriend album it was the highest placed KPop release of any girl group that month. The Awakening finished on number 49 on the list of most popular albums of 2017 with 75,363 units sold.

The EP comes in 2 physical versions - Knight (dark red and horizontal cover) and Military (dark blue and vertical cover). Both feature all members of GFriend on the cover and come with a sleeve that measure 143 x 125 x 17.5 mm. Inside the package you will find a CD disk in a jewel case (142 x 125 mm), a photobook (141 x 125 mm), 7 square postcards hidden inside the jewel case, and 2 random photo cards selected out of 21 variants (55 x 85 mm). All merchandise that come with The Awakening are different in Knight and Military version except the photo cards.

Traditionally a Kihno adition of this GFriend album is also available. Inside the package you will find the Kit itself and a set of 7 photo cards.

Parallel Mini Album

The fifth mini album of GFriend titled Parallel came out on August 1, 2017 under Source Music. Loen once again was responsible for the distribution, while Seoul Media was the manufacturer. The EP features 8 tracks - which is unusual when it comes to mini albums. The CD contains Intro (Belief), the title Love Whisper alongside the instrumental version, Ave Maria, One Half, Life Is a Party, Red Umbrella and Falling Asleep Again. The lead track was composed and arranged by the duo Youngbae and Iggy.

Parallel reached number 3 on the Gaon chart and number 10 on the Billboard's US World chart. It also topped the Taiwanese Five Music chart. It sold 61,473 copies in the month of August and finished the month as the 2nd most popular KPop girl group album (after only Girls' Generation's Holiday Night). It later became the 58th best-selling release of 2017.

This is another of GFriend albums that is available in 2 different physical versions - Love and Whisper. Both are of a dimensions of 143 x 125 x 17.5 mm and come with a sleeve. They are composed of a CD disk with the music in a jewel case and 7 postcards hidden inside (142 x 125 mm), a 64 pages photobook (141 x 125 mm), and 2 random photo cards chosen out of 32 different options (55 x 85 mm). There are 2 unit sheets and 30 individual member sheets (5 per each member of GFriend). If you were lucky enough you could find a rare selfie polaroid photo in your copy.

1 poster randomly chosen out of 2 variants was added to every pre-order. Both measure 750 x 530 mm.

It is the first of GFriend albums that did not receive a Kihno edition.

Rainbow Repackage Album

Parallel was repackaged and released a month later on September 13, 2017 as Rainbow. It features all previously released songs along with 3 new tracks - the lead single Summer Rain (with the instrumental version) and Rainbow.

Iggy and Youngbae was once again responsible for the title song. Rainbow was composed by Fuxxy, Vincenzo, Any Masingga and Anna Timgren. It was arranged by Fuxxy and written by Mafly.

GFriend peaked with the EP on the 2nd position on the Gaon chart only after the Korean version of The Power Of Music by EXO. It was the 7th most purchased release during the month of September with 33,351 copies sold, and the highest positioned KPop girl group on the list. It finished the year on the 91th position with 37,474 units sold.

The physical edition of Rainbow has a paper sleeve and measures 143 x 125 x 17.5 mm. The sleeve contains a jewel case with a CD and 7 postcards (142 x 125 mm), a 100 pages photobook (141 x 125 mm), and 2 photo cards randomly added from a lot of 18 sheets (3 per a member of GFriend). The size of the photo cards is 55 x 85 mm.

Despite that the Kihno edition for Parallel was not released, Rainbow is available in a Kit format. It follows the pattern of all previous Kihno releases of GFriend albums and contains a Kit (60 x 60 mm) and a set of 7 photo cards (54 x 86 mm). The whole package measures 60 x 90 mm.

Time for the Moon Night Mini Album

The sixth extended play of GFriend titled Time for the Moon Night was released by Source Music on April 30, 2018. It was manufactured by Seoul Media and distributed by Loen Entertainment. It features 8 tracks including the intro Daytime, the lead song of the same title as the EP, Love Bug, Flower Garden, Tik Tik, Bye, You Are My Star and the instrumental version of Time for the Moon Night.

For the first time the duo Iggy and Youngbae were not involved in the composing process of the title track of the group. Although they produced Tik Tik.

This was the second of GFriend albums after The Awakening to top the weekly Gaon chart. It also reached number 6 on the US World chart. It was the 10th most popular Korean release of April, 2018 selling 49,548 copies, and the 55th on the year end chart with 84,313 copies sold.

It was the first GFriend album to be available in 3 different physical versions - Time, Moon and Night version. All come with a window on front of the sleeve and measure 152 x 210 x 14 mm. Each of them is composed of a CD disk, a photobook with 60 pages of pictures featuring the members of GFriend (150 x 210 x 12.5 mm), a transparent plastic bookmark with a ribbon (50 x 50 mm), a circle coaster (100 x 100 mm), and 2 randomly chosen photo cards (54 x 86 mm). To complete the collection you have to get 36 different sheets (6 per member). All goods except the photo cards, bookmark and coaster are unique to the version you will be getting. Some copies of the EP came with a special selfie polaroid.

Each pre-ordered copy of Time for the Moon Night came with a poster chosen out of 3 options. All were of a size of 520 x 750 mm.

A Kihno edition consisting of a Kit and 7 photo cards was also released.

Sunny Summer Special Mini Album

The first special album of GFriend had its premiere on July 19, 2018 under Source Music. It was manufactured by Arana, Inc. and distributed by Loen. On the CD you will find 5 songs including the lead single of the same name as the EP, Vacation, Sweety, Windy Windy and Love in the Air. The main track was produced by Duble Sidekick (consisting of a composer Chancellor and lyricist Park Jang-geun), and Black Edition.

Sunny Summer was the 2nd position on the Gaon Weekly chart, and on the 13th on the Billboard's US World chart. It also topped the Taiwanese Five Music chart (for the second time after the fifth extended play Parallel). The GFriend album sold 49,225 units in July, 2018 and was the 5th most popular release that month (the third girl group after Twice's Summer Nights and Apink's One & Six). It became the 79th best-selling album of 2018 with 54,913 copies sold.

Two versions of the physical edition are available - Sunny and Summer. Both measure 150 x 210 x 12.6 mm, and are composed of a CD, 60 pages photobook, and a 2 random photo cards selected out of 30 options (5 per each member of GFriend). The cards measure 54 x 86 mm. This time again a random selfie polaroid photo was included in some of the units.

Two posters of a size of 520 x 750 mm were issued for Sunny Summer.

A Kihno edition is also available for this GFriend album. 7 photo cards are included in the package along with the Kit.

Time for Us Studio Album

Time for Us is the second full-length album of GFriend after Lol. It was manufactured by Arana, Inc. and released by Source Music on January 14, 2019 (although the limited physical edition came out only on January 25, 2019). Kakao M Corp. (formerly known as Loen Entertainment) distributed the album. Time for Us features 13 songs - the lead single Sunrise, You Are Not Alone, L.U.V, Glow, Our Secret, Only 1, Truly Love, Show Up, It's You, A Starry Sky, Love Oh Love, Memoria, and the instrumental version of Sunrise.

The title track for this GFriend album was composed and arranged by No Joo-hwan and Lee Won-jong. Memoria was originally released in Japanese as GFriend's second single in Japan on October 10, 2018.

The GFriend album reached number 2 and 12 on Gaon Weekly and US World charts respectively. It was the 4th best-selling KPop release in January of 2019 (with 86,952 copies sold) and the highest ranked release of any girl group that month. It sold 93,025 units in 2019 and finished the year on 63rd position on the most popular albums list.

The physical edition of Time for Us is available in 4 different versions - three regular, Daybreak, Daytime and Midnight, and 1 limited version.

The dimensions of the three regular versions are 152 x 210 x 18 mm and come with a plastic translucent sleeve. They consist of a CD disk, 80 pages photo book (150 x 210 x 17 mm), 1 transparent photo card chosen randomly out of 12 options (2 per member of GFriend), 1 pop-up card featuring either a random member or the whole group (140 x 100 mm), and 2 standard photo cards randomly selected from a lot of 36 (6 sheets per a single member). The back sides of the photo cards create a bigger illustration when connected. The photo cards and the pop-up card are the same in all three versions. A set of 4 large photos were included if you pre-ordered your copy.

The limited version of this GFriend album looks like a hardcover book. It measures 152 x 210 x 29 mm and is composed of a CD disk, a photobook (80 pages, 140 x 196 x 8 mm), a folded lyrics paper (140 x 196 mm), a paper mobile showcasing a random member (140 x 196 mm), a frame stand with 7 photos (1 group plus 6 solo) of a size of 103 x 145 mm, an invitation card, and 2 random photo cards chosen out of 18 variants. 1 poster of a size of 520 x 750 was issued for the limited edition.

If you want to complete the collection of photo cards available for this release you have to gather 68 different sheets. All measure 54 x 86 mm.

A Kihno edition of this GFriend album was also released. It looks a little bit different than all previous Kihno releases of the group. Its sleeve has a window on front and contain a set of 12 photo cards instead of 7 (6 solo, 4 unit and 2 group sheets). The set comes in a separate paper box. An Air Kit is included instead of a regular Kit with a mini jack. This was the last time when a Kihno edition was released for a GFriend album.

Fever Season Mini Album

Fever Season is the seventh extended play of GFriend that came out under Source Music on July 1, 2019. It was distributed by Kakao M. The EP features 8 tracks including the title Fever, Mr. Blue, Smile, Wish, Paradise, Hope, the Korean version of Flower and the instrumental version of Fever.

The lead single was produced by a Korean team Oreo consisting of Igi, Cino and Ung Kim. For the first time since GFriend debuted, Iggy and Youngbae did not participate in the creating process of any of the songs.

It's worth mentioning that all members of the girl group were credited as the lyricists of Hope (alongside Lee Won-jong).

Fever Season topped the Gaon weekly chart and managed to reach number 10 on the US World chart. It sold 80,497 copies during July of 2019 and was the 1st best-selling KPop album of any girl groups that month (the 8th overall). The GFriend album finished the year on the 68th position with the sales equaling 82,389 units.

The physical edition is available in 3 versions - Yeol, Dae and Ya. All are of a square photobook form and come with a translucent dust jacket. They consists of a CD disk, the photobook itself (60 pages, 194 x 194 mm), a frame with a clear photo (individual member or group) of a size of 100 x 100 mm, 2 square sheets of stickers (150 x 150 mm), and 2 random photo cards of a size of 54 x 86 mm chosen from a lot of 42 variants (7 sheets per member of GFriend). A very limited amount of copies of the album contained also a rare polaroid photo. The whole package measures 200 x 200 x 14 mm.

A special set of 6 photo cards in an elegant envelope was added to each pre-ordered copy of Fever Season.

Labyrinth Mini Album

The eight mini album of the group titled Labyrinth was released on February 3, 2020 by Source Music. Kakao M was once again responsible for the distribution. This was the first of GFriend albums that came out after Source Music was acquired by Big Hit Entertainment.

Labyrinth features 6 songs - the opening track of the same title, Crossroads, Here We Are, Eclipse, Dreamcatcher and From Me. Crossroads serves as the lead single and was produced by Noh Joo-hwan and Lee Won-jong.

The GFriend album reached the highest position on the Gaon Weekly chart. It sold 82,533 during February, 2020, and was the 4th most popular Korean release that month as a result (the 2nd of any girl groups after IZ*ONE's Bloom*Iz).

Labyrinth is available in 3 physical versions - Crossroads, Room and Twisted, all of a dimensions of 154 x 214 x 15.5 mm. Inside the package you will find a CD disk in an envelope (118 x 118 mm), a 60 pages photobook with some beautiful pictures (150 x 210 x 5.5 mm), a 16 pages mini book (140 x 140 mm), a pop-up card showcasing a random member of GFriend (140 x 140 mm), a random photo film (out of 3 variants) featuring the faces of all members (210 x 35 mm), and 2 photo cards selected randomly from a lot of 60 sheets (10 per a single member). A rare polaroids were included in some of the copies of the album.

1 random poster was added to all pre-orders. There are 10 different options prepared (5 vertical and 5 horizontal), all of them measure 750 x 520 mm.

Song of the Sirens Mini Album

Song of the Sirens is the ninth EP of GFriend. It had its premiere on July 13, 2020, was released by Source Music and distributed by Kakao M. On the CD you will find 6 new tracks including the lead single Apple, Eye of the Storm, Room of Mirrors, Tarot Cards, Creme Brulée and Stairs in the North. Apple was produced by FRANTS, Pdogg and "Hitman" Bang. Yuju and Eunha both contributed to creating the composition and the lyrics for the song. The duo alongside Umji co-wrote the lyrics for Tarot Cards, while Yuju co-compose and Umji wrote the lyrics for Eye of the Storm. Stairs in the North was inspired by a personal story of SinB.

The GFriend album reached number 3 on the Gaon Weekly chart and was the second most popular release of any girl group after Blackpink's How You Like That. It was the 7th bestseller of July, 2020, with 89,405 units sold.

The physical edition of Song of the Sirens is available in 3 versions - Broken Room (B), Titled (T) and Apple (A). Each of them measure 218 x 156 x 37 mm and come in a pop-up outer box chosen randomly out of 21 options. Inside the box you will find a CD disk in a jewel case (118 x 118 mm), a 60 pages photobook (150 x 210 x 5.5 mm), a 16 pages mini book (140 x 140 mm), a random folded paper added out of 18 variants (100 x 60 mm), 1 random lenticular photo card featuring a single member (54 x 86 mm), and 2 random regular photo cards selected from a lot of 72 options (12 per each member of GFriend). A selfie polaroid photo was included in a small amount of units.

3 different posters were prepared for the EP. They measure 750 x 520 mm.

A set of 9 photo cards was added as a pre-order benefit (54 x 86 mm). It was chosen randomly out of 3 different sets.

Walpurgis Night Studio Album

Walpurgis Night is the third full-length album of GFriend and at the same time their final record. It came out on November 9, 2020 under Source Music. Kakao M was once again responsible for the distribution. It features 11 songs including Mago, Love Spell, Three of Cups, GRWM, Secret Diary (performed by Yerin and SinB), Better Me (performed by Sowon and Umji), Night Drive, (performed by Eunha and Yuju), the previous lead single Apple, Crossroads, Labyrinth and Wheel of the Year.

Walpurgis Night managed to reach the 3rd position on the Gaon weekly chart. It was also the 19th best-selling release of November 2020 in South Korea.

3 versions of the physical edition are available - My Room (red cover), My Way (black cover) and My Girls (blue cover). The dimensions of all of them are 156 x 216 x 14 mm. Inside the package there is a selection of nice merchandise including a CD disk in an envelope, a 60 pages photobook, a lyric book with 24 pages of content, a 16 pages square mini book measuring 140 x 140 mm, a PET photo stand showcasing a random member of GFriend, a pop-up card depicting a room, 1 random business card, and 2 selfie photo card included at random from a lot of 72 different options.

10 different posters were prepared for this album. They measure 750 x 520 mm.

A rare Polaroid picture was included in some small amount of copies of the studio album.
