EXO Official Light Stick (Version 2.0)

The second version of the official light stick of EXO was announced on May 27, 2016. It was available for pre-order between July 4 and July 17, 2016 and finally released on July 22, 2016 at the first concert in Seoul during the third world tour of the group titled EXO Planet #3 – The Exo'rdium. The tour began with six concerts in Seoul and was followed by the performances in Bangkok, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Hokkaido, Nagoya, Tokyo, Osaka, Hangzhou, Taipei, Hong Kong, Quezon City, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Newark, Inglewood and México City. The members performed 37 times during the tour. The Version 2.0 of the EXO light stick was of course not the only collectible available at the initial concerts. The other interesting items you could purchase at the venue were a light stick pouch in either black or white color, a name tag (9 versions), a baseball uniform in two sizes (9 versions), a set of two wrist bands, a silicon band, a slogan towel, a black eco bag, a white wappen, a set of 9 logo wappens, a set of three sheets of reflective stickers, a color changing mug, a scotch pouch, a special brochure, a standing postcard frame, a bromide (9 options), a set of one polaroid and one mount photo card, a set of 27 power cards, a photo fan (9 versions), 9 different variants of L-Holder, a logo keyring, a transparent frame (9 options), a glass cup (9 options) and finally a special penlight. The light stick like all other collectibles are the official products from SM Entertainment.

The color of new version of the EXO light stick is white instead of black. Although the color is different, everything else stayed the same. The item features a 3D logo of EXO as a head which is in a hexagonal shape. On the handle you will spot a small power on button with a logo of the KPop group. The cover for the batteries at the bottom of the handle can be replaced with a silver one that's included in the package. Similarly to the previous version the light stick can produce the light in a white color and needs 3 alkaline AAA batteries to operate. It can work for a maximum time of 5 hours. Three modes are available - On, Blink and Flicker.

The official EXO light stick (Version 2.0) can be connected to your smartphone via Bluetooth 4.0. It is very useful at the concerts where you can pair the item with your seat so the light stick can be controlled by a central control. That means a special light effects can be achieved during the performances at the venue. To connect the light stick to your smartphone you have to download an app called Wyth (either from App Store or Google Play) and log in using your SMTOWN account. If you don't have it you can easily create one using the app. Then you can choose one of the available concerts and enter the number of your seat.

In the package you will find additional items including a white envelope with a group photo card, one sheet of 10 stickers composed of one logo sticker and 9 stickers featuring a name of a single member with a corresponding number (all members are present: Suho (1), Baekhyun (4), Lay (10), D.O. (12), Chen (21), Chanyeol (61), Kai (88), Sehun (94) and Xiumin (99)), a user manual and a warranty card with a sticker of authenticity from SM Entertainment. You will also get a white hand strap and, as I mentioned before, a silver cover. All comes in a white box of approximately the same size as the box containing the previous version of the EXO light stick. The size of the box is 130 x 50 x 311 mm.

The dimensions of the Version 2.0 are 102 x 38.9 x 272 mm and it weights around 200 g. It was manufactured in China. A special pouch for the fanlight has been released and was available in two colors - white and black. It was created so you can protect your precious item and transport it in a little bit more easy manner. It is made of PU, EVA and polyester and measures 130 x 300 x 60 mm. Another version of the pouch was released on September 30, 2019.

The second version of the light stick was also available at the subsequent concerts among other merchandise. You could get it at the events of EXO Planet #3 – The Exo'rdium [dot] and the fourth tour EXO Planet #4 - The ElyXiOn (including the [dot] encore concerts). The next version of the light stick was released ahead of the fifth tour titled EXO Planet #5 - EXplOration in July of 2019.
