The first version of the official EXO light stick was announced on October 7, 2015 through the official page of EXO. It was exclusively prepared for the upcoming first concert of the group titled Love Concert In Dome. The concert was held on October 10, 2015 at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. Only the people who bought the ticket and attended the event could acquire the light stick - it was not available for pre-order nor purchase elsewhere. The fans could get three other collectibles at the concert including a set of 18 postcards, a set of 9 photo cards and a luminous button of a diameter of 50 mm. The Version 1 of the EXO light stick was manufactured in China and is an official merchandise from SM Entertainment.
The item has a black head in a hexagonal shape featuring the logo of the group and a black handle with a button showcasing the band's name. The version 1 of the EXO light stick can glow in white color and can operate three modes including On, Blink and Flicker. It is powered by three AAA alkaline batteries similarly to other light sticks. Its expected maximum working time is 5 hours. The product comes with a black warranty card with a hologram logo of EXO, a hand strap and quick start guide. You will get all the contents inside a very elegant box which opens on one side. It's equipped with a magnetic clasp. The dimensions of the product are 102 x 38.9 x 272 mm.
The EXO light stick (Version 1) was later also listed on the merchandise list of the three encore concerts of the EXO Planet #2 - The EXO'luXion [dot] world tour. Beside the fanlight the attendees had a chance to became the owners of 15 other collectibles including a penlight, a slap band, a name tag (9 options), a message kit, a set of 27 postcards with a world tour map, a set of bromide with a name tag (9 options), 9 different L-Holders, a set consisting of 2 door sign photos and 9 mini polaroids, a set of deco stickers, a picnic mat, a sitting cushion, a T-shirt with a photo (9 versions), an eco bag, a black zip-up hoodie and a face mask.
The next version of the EXO light stick was released for the third world tour titled EXO Planet #3 – The Exo'rdium a year later.
