The official Stray Kids light stick was announced on the group's Twitter account on November 16, 2019. It was revealed ahead of their second concert tour titled District 9: Unlock which was organized to support their seventh extended play Clé : LEVANTER that came out on December 9, 2019. The Stray Kids light stick was designed by a South Korean company 101X and manufactured in China under the license of JYP Entertainment. It was available for the first time at the first concert of the tour that was held on November 23, 2019 at the Olympic Hall in Seoul.
The Stray Kids light stick has a unique design featuring a moving red and silver compass inside a transparent round dome with a name of the group. On the red part of the compass you will spot a phrase "You make Stray Kids stay". The light stick has a white handle with a round button showcasing the logo of Stray Kids. It is named Nachimbong which is a combination of two Korean words: nachimban (compass) and bong (rod).
The item can produce the light in any color since it's equipped with RGBW LED. It can be controlled with central control mode at the venue to create a special coordinated light effects and sophisticated color changes. It is all possible thanks to a pairing function which enables the light stick to be paired with your seat at the concert. It can be also connected to your smartphone via Bluetooth 4.1 with a maximum operating range of 10 m. Although I wasn't able to find any official app neither on Google Play nor App Store. The Stray Kids light stick can work in three different modes including On, Blink and Flicker and is powered - as usual - by 3 AAA alkaline batteries. The batteries are hidden in a special compartment inside the handle. The dimensions of this must have item are 84 x 95 x 231 mm.
Aside from the light stick in the package you will find a white hand strap with the logo of Stray Kids on one end. It will definitely help you to hold it, especially in a crowded venue where a concert will take place. You will also get a quick start guide and quality assurance card. Everything comes in a white box with a sticker of authenticity on it so you can be sure it is a genuine collectible from JYP Entertainment.
The fanlight was originally priced at KRW 38,000 and - although not present on the list of the merchandise - was available for the audience of the first two concerts of District 9: Unlock World Tour that were held in Seoul on November 23-24, 2019. Aside from the Stray Kids light stick the fans had a chance to acquire 14 other collectibles including a special pouch for the light stick, 8 different versions of the strap keyring (one for each of the members), a black free-sized hoodie, a white t-shirt, a travel bag, a set of 4 pouches made of PVC in different sizes and designs, a necklace with a pendant made of a real silver (92.5%), 2 sheets of a tattoo stickers in a set, a black ball cap, two types of shoelace - black or white, a set of 18 postcards of a size of 127 x 188 mm, a set of 26 polaroid photos, a random photo and finally an L-Holder (8 options).
