Red Ickle is the debut extended play of the group. It came out under Shofar Music on April 22, 2016. It was manufactured by M-tech Media and distributed by Windmill Ent Co., Ltd. It was the first part of their cycle "Red", labeled as "Half Album". The "Full Album" was released as Red Planet on August 29, 2016.
The EP consists of 5 songs including Chocolate, Fight Day, Ring, Grumpy and Sometimes. Fight Day was chosen as the title track. It was written by Ahn Jiyoung, who is also credited as a co-writer of all tracks except Sometimes.
Rec Ickle peaked at number 30 on the weekly Gaon chart. It did not charted in the top 100 during its debut week, but managed to climb up to position number 30 four months later, in week between October 9 and 15, 2016. It sold 659 copies that month.
The physical edition of the first of Bolbbalgan4 albums consists of a CD disk with the music, and a photobook with some beautiful pictures inside. There are no photo cards included with this release.
The first full-length album and the second of Bolbbalgan4 albums overall had its premiere on August 29, 2016 under Shofar Music. It was released as the second part of the "Red" series, under the subtitle "Full Album".
On the CD you will find all songs from Red Ickle (except Sometimes) and 7 new tracks including the lead single Galaxy, You, Hard To Love, Freesia, X Song, When I Fall In Love, and a radio edit of Galaxy present only on the physical edition. The title song was written by Odd Child and Ahn Jiyoung. The member wrote all songs on this Bolbbalgan4 album with the exception of X Song, which was written by Vanilla Man.
Red Planet reached number 15 on the Gaon weekly chart during its debut week, and sold 2,372 copies in August and September 2016. It sold another 3,000 units in October reaching number 27 on the Gaon Monthly chart. The sales did not fall the following 2 months, and reached 2,917 and 2,860 copies in November and December respectively.
Similarly to the previous Bolbbalgan4 album, the physical edition of Red Planet comes with a CD disk containing the music, and the photobook with some interesting pictures showcasing both members of the group, along with the lyrics.
The second extended play of Bolbbalgan4 titled Red Diary Page.1 came out under Shofar on September 28, 2017. As the title suggests, it was the first part of the Red Diary series of albums. M-tech Media manufactured the EP while Loen Entertainment provided the distribution.
It features 6 tracks including the title Some, Blue, Fix Me, Imagine, To My Youth, and an alternative version of Some (Chic version), available only on the physical edition. The lead single was composed and by Jiyoung (who also produced Blue and To My Youth) and Vanilla Man, who also arranged the track.
The third of Bolbbalgan4 albums peaked at the 7th position on the weekly Gaon chart. It was the 24th best-selling album of October with 4,783 copies sold. It sold another 4,958 units the following month, and was placed at the 26th position.
The Bolbbalgan4 album comes in 1 physical edition with a pink slip case and a blue ribbon. Inside the package you will find a CD disk attached to the back side of the front cover, a photobook full of beautiful pictures, and 2 random photo cards (1 group plus 1 individual member card).
To promote the premiere of Red Diary Page.1, a limited edition collectibles were prepared for the fans. The collection consists of 5 different pieces of merchandise including 2 different sizes of note books (L and M), 4 versions of a sticky memo pad, 2 different sets of 2 pens, and 3 L-holders.
The second part of the Red Diary series was released on May 24, 2018 under Shofar Music. It features 7 songs - Wind, Travel, Starlight, Dear, Teddy Bear, Clip, Lonely, with an additional track - the instrumental version of Travel, available only on the physical edition of Red Diary Page.2.
Wind and Travel both serve as the album's double lead singles. They were composed by Jiyoung, who is also credited as a lyricist. She provided the composition and wrote the lyrics for all songs on this Bolbbalgan4 album.
The EP charted in the top 5 (at 5th place) on the Gaon Weekly chart. It sold 6,936 units during May 2018 and ended the month as the 27th best-selling release in Korea.
The fourth of Bolbbalgan4 albums comes in a similar design to the previous release. This time though the slip cover is yellow. Inside the package you will find a CD disk containing the music, a photobook with some nice photos of the girls and several plastic semi-translucent pages, and 1 sheet of stickers.
The fifth of Bolbbalgan4 albums and the first part of the "Puberty" series of albums premiered on April 2, 2019 under Shofar. It consists of 5 tracks - Picnic, Bom, Stars Over Me, Seattle Alone and Mermaid. Bom serves as the title song, and was produced by Jiyoung and Vanilla Man. Jiyoon composed and wrote the lyrics for the opening track.
The extended play reached the 16th position on the Gaon weekly chart, and sold 5,689 units in April 2019, peaking at number 35 on the Gaon Monthly chart.
Puberty Book I Bom comes in a photobook format with a red wrapper and looks like a notebook with bookmarks. It is composed of a CD disk, the photobook itself, and 1 random bookmark chosen out of 3 different variants.
Two Five is the fifth extended play of the group. It had its premiere under Shofar on September 10, 2019. It was manufactured by M-tech Media and distributed by Kakao M (formerly known as Loen Entertainment). It is the last of Bolbbalgan4 albums to feature Jiyoon, who left in 2020.
The EP consists of 5 tracks including Workaholic, 25, XX, Taste, Day Off, and the acoustic version of XX. Workaholic was chosen as the lead single. It was produced - like all other songs on Two Five - by Jiyoung alongside Vanilla Man. Jiyoon helped with the lyrics for Day Off.
The Bolbbalgan4 album managed to reach number 6 on the weekly Gaon chart. With 5,162 copies sold it became the 35th best-selling KPop album of September 2019.
The EP is available in a square physical edition sized 182 x 182 mm. It is composed of a CD disk with the music on a round tray and in a yellow envelope, a 38 pages photobook showcasing both members of Bolbbalgan4 (160 x 160 mm), a folded poster (160 x 160 mm), and 3 random photo cards - 1 of Jiyoung (out of 3 variants), 1 of Jiyoon (3 variants), and 1 group photo card (2 variants).
A square poster of a dimensions of 320 x 320 mm was prepared for this release.
To support the album a concert tour of the same title was organized. The girls visited 5 different cities all around South Korea and gave 10 performances. The tour began on November 30, 2019 in Busan, at the Sohyang Theatre Shinhan Card Hall. A collection of 6 different pieces of merchandise was prepared for the fans. The attendees had a chance to purchase the official Bolbbalgan4 light stick, a keyring with 3 charms, the official slogan, a black hoodie with words "Two Five" on the back, a set of 2 ID photos, a set of 5 photo cards, and 4 posters in a set.
The second part of the "Puberty" series of Bolbbalgan4 albums came out under Shofar Music on May 13, 2020. It was the first releases of the act to feature only Ahn Jiyoung.
Puberty Book II Pum is composed of 5 songs - Blank, Hug, Leo (with Baekhyun of EXO), Counseling and Dandelion. Hug and Leo serve as the double title tracks. Both were - as well as all other tracks on this Bolbbalgan4 album - written, composed and arranged entirely by Jiyoung and Vanilla Man.
Pum peaked at the 8th position on the Gaon chart, and sold 5,536 units during its first month after premiere, finishing May 2020 at number 38 of the best-sellers chart.
Physically Puberty Book II Pum comes in a similar design to the first part, measuring 149 x 210 mm. It comes with a CD disk, a 68 pages photobook, 1 bookmark chosen at random out of 3 variants, and 1 photo selected randomly out of 3 options, with a message on the back side. The bookmark and photo come in a purple envelope.
The seventh extended play of Bolbbalgan4 titled Seoul was released on April 20, 2022 under Shofar Music. It features 5 songs including Love Story, the title track of the same title, What Makes Us Beautiful, In the Mirror and Star. The release is available on streaming, digitally and as a physical edition.
The extended play peaked at the 26th position on the weekly Gaon chart.
The physical edition of Seoul comes in a single version. It has a green cover and feature Jiyoung on the cover. The size of the album is 170 x 250 mm. Inside the package you will find a CD disk containing all 5 songs, a 72 pages photobook, 1 sheet of stamp stickers of a size of 100 x 130 mm, 1 ticket measuring 120 x 50 mm, 1 photo card selected randomly out of 4 unique sheets, and 1 Polaroid photo sized 90 x 100 mm included out of 3 variants.
