BTS Bearbricks - 100% And 400% Versions From 2015 And 2019

Bearbrick is a Japanese toy manufactured by a MediCom Toy Incorporated company. This figure looks - as the name suggest - like a bear and is composed of nine parts representing head, torso, legs, hands, hips and arms. It is available in various sizes and made of different materials like plastic and wood. The first toy was released in 2001. It is considered a highly collectible item by many.

The typical sizes of a bearbrick are:

  • 100% - 7 cm high (standard version)
  • 50% - 4 cm high
  • 70% - 5 cm high
  • 150% - 10.5 cm high
  • 200% - 14 cm high
  • 400% - 28 cm high
  • 1000% - 70 cm high

Bearbricks are mostly available separately and are sold in a box that doesn't allow the buyer to tell what kind of a figure he will get. You have to open the package to find out about the figure type.

BTS Bearbricks - 100% And 400% Versions From 2015 And 2019

MediCom Toy Incorporated and Big Hit Entertainment joined their forces and created the first BTS bearbrick for the collectors and especially for the Bangtan Boys' fans in 2015. The 100% version was released on June 26 in conjunction with the first anniversary of the group's debut in Japan. The 400% version was released three months later September 25. It is in a black color and has golden elements on it - a BTS logo, a star and lightning on front and the name of the group written in Japanese at the back. It took around 6 months to produce the BTS bearbrick. The 400% version was limited to only 500 pieces. The members of the official Japanese fan club had a chance to reserve a toy for themselves during the pre-order period.

BTS are not the first South Korean artists that have worked with MediCom. Others were TVXQ, Big Bang and 2PM.

In 2019 one new figure showed up in 100% and 400% variants. Both were released in May. The BE@RBRICK is wearing a black suit inspired by the attire the members often wear during their concerts. It has a golden logo at the back. It is available for purchase on the official BTS Japanese store. If you're not fluent in Japanese you can get them easily on Ebay. Of course if the price is not to extreme for you - it can cost more than $500 USD.

A special line of BT21 limited edition Bearbricks created as a collaboration with Line Friends was also released.
